After high school in London, UK, he attended the Berklee College of Music for two semesters focusing on jazz piano, music production and engineering.
He released his mixtape GoodBye For Never in October 2014, which The Source magazine labelled “the best mixtape of 2014”. In September 2015, while studying for the law school entrance examination, he was invited to the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London for recording sessions with Grammy award winning "Uptown Funk" producer Mark Ronson after being selected for a competition produced by Converse.
From graduating Brown University (‘16) and through his time at Columbia Law School (‘20) and practicing as an intellectual property corporate attorney at Proskauer Rose LLP in NYC, he released 9 solo self-produced projects, including the album and accompanying short film “EVERYBODY FALLS IN THE SUMMER”. DAP also released a collaborative EP entitled Old New Clothes under the moniker Hi-Lo Jack with fellow collaborators Clyde Lawrence and Cody Fitzgerald, who both scored the Disney movie “Noelle” and included a verse from DAP.
DAP has opened for Skepta, Burna Boy, Rema, Lawrence (the band), Show Dem Camp and The Cavemen, and performed at shows and festivals across continents, most notably in Lagos, London, and New York at venues in each such as Muri Okunola Park, The Saatchi Gallery, and SOB’s.
DAP released his single Fàájì (ft. Suté Iwar) on October 25th, 2024, as he leans further into his Nigerian roots and blends traditional highlife and afrobeat sounds with Rap/Hip-Hop elements.
